I took my cat to the vet on Saturday and they weren't sure what was wrong with him and sent him home with antibiotics and an IV because he was dehydrated. It's been three days and he is worse then ever. I took him back to the vet today and he had an 105 degree temperature and he was wheezing so bad he sounded like he was snoring. The vet said she wanted to take x-rays and keep him over night for treatment because he was in such bad shape. She told me that he has a little bit of pneumonia and also has 1 of 3 three things: cat leukemia, an immunodeficiency virus or FIP. She told me all of these things are very serious and even with treatment, the virus could be fatal. I agreed he should stay overnight for intense treatment but the first bill she handed me was about 850 dollars. After crying and begging she reduced it to 500 something and is giving me 4 months to pay it off. I calculated the payments to be $77 a paycheck even tho I really have no choice but to let them treat my cat, I would be devastated if he died. I'm so overwhelmed with bills and money already but I have to do this for my cat, I have to give him a chance because he's worth more to me then having money in my account.
